Journey's End PPJs 03 (Week 5)

This week was all about putting the pieces together. We took the groundwork laid in weeks 1 & 2 and finally got some stuff on screen.


Tasks:

  • Created & Implemented boids with modular behaviors. Created a few behaviors to keep them on screen, disperse, etc. (12 hrs)

  • Kept the DevOps page updated and assigned/verified/moved tasks (30 mins)

  • Organized general meeting on friday, helped lay out tasks (1 hr)

  • Attended writers meeting, helped compile script for programmers (1hr)

  • Joined team meetings to discuss tasks and plans. (2 Hours)

  • Began work on modular programming of choices. These are choices that can be made from a JSON file and dynamically loaded at the start of the game for easier editing. (3 Hours)

  • Worked on slideshows (0.5 Hours)

Presentation Design, Team Meeting


This week I worked creating a themed presentation design. I came up with around 4 different concepts, created them in Photoshop, then tested the themes in PowerPoint with a presentation mock up. This week was more of a break for 2D art assets as the team focused on creating the 3D environmental pieces. However, I did get started a bit on researching for the next art assets we will be needing next week.


Good:

I actually really like creating presentation themes so this week was a good simple week for me. It helped that this week was very easy since last week was work heavy.

Completed Tasks:

  • Wrote first draft of Sunrise/Enter Daydream scene and first decision (3 hours)

  • Updated foreshadowing scene (1 hour)

  • Attended writer's meeting to discuss and edit the writing the writer's did (1 hour)
