Journey's End PPJs 05 (Week 7)

This week was a lot more productive than any week in the past. The team worked really well together and I was super happy with the progress we made. The Alpha build is a whole different game than the playtest. We also did a larger meeting during the week where we were able to write and work side by side a bit. I think this helped a lot with meeting our goals for the week.


Tasks (grouped by session):

  • Organized general meeting and planned for the push/weeks work. 1.5hrs

  • Attended writers meeting. Assisted with read-throughs and editing 2ish hrs

  • Edited and Implemented twine file with writing team. 2hrs

  • Added in AJs textures. Created a shader that blends the normal maps and can be controlled via script 2.5hrs

  • Implemented choice vfx for all middle choices in game 3hrs

  • Set up UI, changed font. Organized canvas etc 1hr

  • Misc reworking of scene 2hrs

  • Edited bird model to create statuette, created map mesh and texture 30mins


Total 14.5hrs



Positive:

The writing is nearly done. We just need to get test feedback and edit. I plan to have people read through the story this week and have it finalized by next. The scene is reality coming together. We need more vfx and stuff to make the environment look better, but its getting close.


Negative:

I’m hoping to get everyone's hands on the unity project next week. But honestly I can’t complain, everyone did a great job this week.


Future:


More vfx refining

Mixing the final audio

Starting menus and quality of life options.

Etc that isnt coming to mind now
